My family always took vacations growing up. Theme parks, islands, other states. Two things stuck with me: a love of experience and a love of relaxation. I loved sitting by the pool for a week, but I also loved running around Disney getting on every ride. As I got older, I realized the sweet spot is both. Getting to experience a place and getting to unwind in that same place.
My dad always wanted to get to New Orleans. In 2014, he finally made it with me and my mom. Restaurants, city tours, a local festival, hurricanes at a dueling piano bar. Less than a year later, he passed away.
